Origin Agritech gets approval for 4 crop seeds
NEW YORK (AP) -- China-based Origin Agritech Ltd. said Friday it won approval to sell three hybrid corn seeds and one genetically modified cotton seed during the 2009 season.
The supplier of crop seeds and agri-biotech research said the seeds will be distributed in five provinces.
The company sells 68 varieties of corn seed and 15 varieties of cotton seed in China.
Shares of Origin Agritech rose 41 cents, or more than 6 percent, to $6.51 in afternoon trading.
